4. Taproot+ – pro-bono help available for nonprofits to tell their stories

Creating a video can be a big challenge for many nonprofits, so we want to make it easier for them to connect with skilled volunteers who can help them share their stories. Through a partnership with Taproot+, TechSoup can now connect pro bono volunteers interested in creating a video for a nonprofit (for free!) with organizations in their communities. Use the Taproot Storymakers portal to post your own video projects or help a local member find help with their video.

Through this Taproot+ partnership nonprofit organization and expert story makers/videographers can be matched up to create videos for Storymakers 2016.

  • Nonprofits or those interested in volunteering can go to:
  • They can then sign up with Taproot+ to either list their Storymakers video needs, or expert skills they want volunteer
  • Once submitted, the nonprofits Storymakers proejct needs get posted to the Taproot+ site and the Taproot+ campaign page, as well as cross posted on LinkedIn
  • Taproot+ will help with matching nonprofits to probono help, iand offer tools, check-ins, and resources during the entire pro bono project process

For those that might find matches of nonprofit with videographers during a NetSquared event in person, it is still good to point them towards the Taproot+ campaign page so they can take advantage of the site resources and tools. They can just make note in their Taproot+ project needs application of the person they will be collaborating with and Taproot will help from there.
